8 Amazing Wedding Venues in London

London is an amazing city in which to get married. From the traditional to the funky, the weird to the totally outrageous, you really are spoilt for choice as to the venue.

We’ve put together a list of what we consider (in our humble opinion) to be the 8 best wedding venues in the capital to choose from.

Horniman Museum and Gardens

This wonderful museum is located in Forest Hill, South East London, and offers three special and unique options for your wedding and/or reception. These are the grade II listed Victorian Horniman Conservatory that boasts a wonderful terrace and views across the gardens. It can accommodate up to 120 guests and is fully accessible for those with disabilities.

Or you could choose the brand new pavilion, built in 2011 as part of the Horniman Gardens renovation project. With floor to ceiling windows, the pavilion can host up to 80 guests, and has a private outdoor terrace for al fresco dining.

For an intimate ceremony, why not consider The Bandstand. Or alternatively you can come here for photographs following the wedding ceremony. The views are outstanding, with many of London’s iconic landmarks as a backdrop.

The wine aficionados paradise of Vinopolis is a funky and chic place in which to tie the knot. The wonderful streets of Borough Market are home to this great location, and the experienced staff can help you plan the most perfect day.

Vinopolis also offers a selection of locations within its walls, from intimate to quirky, old-fashioned grandeur to the epitome of sophistication – the choice is yours.

Somerset House

For pure glamour, look no further than the iconic buildings of Somerset House. On the banks of the River Thames, this is a location that can house the largest of wedding parties (with capacity ranging from 8 – 1,500 guests). The venue offers many different locations, including the Lightwells and Deadhouse below ground with amazing lighting, the River Terrace or the West Wing for some old style grandeur.

The interior courtyard also offers a wonderful location for some amazing photographs amid the historic architecture of one of London’s most famous buildings.

If you’re looking for old-fashioned style, then Soho located champagne bar, Kettners, might be just what you’re looking for. They provide a dedicated wedding coordinator, and you can choose from 8 private rooms in which to hold the ceremony and reception.

You’re not limited to a standard package, either, as Kettners will create a bespoke day according to your wishes.

The Prince Albert

Sometimes it’s not all about big and brash, and you might be looking for a somewhat smaller and more quirky location. The Prince Albert in Camden Town have helped numerous couples host their perfect celebration – including the whole shebang as they’re licensed to hold marriage ceremonies, or simply a cool and laid back wedding reception.

They can assist with all aspects of the day, including the cake, menu, wines, transportation for you and your guests, a DJ, flowers… the team will do their utmost to ensure your perfect day.

Fulham Palace

If you’ve ever harboured a fantasy of getting hitched in a palace, then your dream really could come true. Fulham Palace, home to the Bishop of London since the year 704, offers some wonderful options for your big day.

These include The Great Hall, with a gothic fireplace and traditional wooden paneling, the Bishop Sherlock’s Room with an extraordinary Rococo ceiling and the Dining Room for the most intimate of ceremonies.

In addition, the venue also boasts its own private chapel, where you can have a blessing or service following your ceremony. The chapel can seat up to 90 guests and has, naturally, a fully operational organ to ensure your day has the most traditional of music.

The Hospital Club

For a weird and wonderful location, The Hospital Club certainly fits the bill.
